I traveled to NYC for the big black-out of 2004, and I traveled to NYC just in time for the biggest blizzard of city history. It's a wonder I was nowhere near the place during 9/11.

so is it considered rude, then, to ask you not to visit Philly anytime soon?

Don't worry, we can handle snow. Or at least SOME of us can.

Oh I made it. I left the day before and stayed at my sister's. It was fun to wake up to a totally snowed-in city, and would have been great to stay inside all day with my cute niece, but I had to haul myself and my luggage to the subway and then my hotel while the blustery snow was still raging. It was very pretty, though, and cool to be in a transformed world (kind of like the blackout).

amazing! I've lived in NY for 99% of my life and I managed to be away for both of those. I was there for 9/11 however.
